Project: Strong – The “W.I.N.” Challenge

Welcome to the  Project: Strong  “W.I.N. Challenge!”

“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves…And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”

– Eleanor Roosevelt

“I follow three rules:

Do the right thing,

do the best you can,

and always show people you care.”

Lou Holtz

The Project: Strong W.I.N. Challenge

W.I.N.

What’s Important Now?

The famous Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz had a strategy called W.I.N.

W.I.N. is an acronym that stands for What’s Important Now?

He would encourage his players to ask themselves this question 25 times a day!

Our daily choices shape our future. If we focus on what is the most important thing to do right now, and then act on it, then those daily choices will lead to success.

How the challenge works:

1. Complete the three “Mind. Body. World.” challenges between now and June 15th. These are listed below.

2. Choose a goal that you would like to accomplish by June 15th. Write down that goal and then write a few sentences on how following the W.I.N. strategy will help you reach that goal.

3. Reflection. At the end of the challenge, document (written or video) what you learned, and experienced through the W.I.N. Challenge.  Did you accomplish your goal? Why or why not?

Mind. Body. World. Challenges

Mind: Breathing is so important to calming our minds, gaining focus, and making good decisions. Take a deep full breath each time you ask yourself What’s Important Now?

Body: Perform high quality push ups throughout this challenge.

Kids complete 150 or more.

Adults complete 300 or more.

You may choose how you wish to break up the push ups over the course of the challenge.

World: Perform at least three random acts of kindness. How can you use the W.I.N. strategy in performing random acts of kindness?
